Flexible, Scalable & Fast!
Google has indicated that website speed is a key signal used by its algorithm to rank pages. Website speed is also critical to the user experience. Websites with longer load times tend to have higher bounce rates, lower average time on page and lower conversions rates.

Responsive websites intelligently adjust their layout to suit the device or screen it is being viewed on, without losing or distorting pages and images.
Our web development process is mobile first, meaning we design for mobile devices first and then build for tablet and desktop.
Can I see some examples of your web design?
Yes. Since we started building websites for Hospitality and Tourism we have built over 400 websites. Please head over to our Website Portfolio page to see some of our recent projects.
Will my website be SEO friendly?

This ensures we optimise your position in Google, and that your website contributes as a key component of your marketing strategy.

Is training included in the price?
Yes. Once the site goes live we run through a complete training session on how to manage and update your website.
Can I use my own hosting?
Ideally, your new website would be on our hosting platform, this is to ensure maximum security and site speed. We aim to have your home page load in under 1 second, and we achieve this through high performance, cloud-based hosting.
Using our hosting platform enables us to keep your site security, plugins and WordPress instances up to date. You will also have access to a number of our developer licenses at no extra cost – this alone will save you over $140 per year.
Having the site with us also means if there are any issues, it is all on us to resolve.
The first-year hosting with us is usually included with the website build at no extra cost. We do this so you do not lose any money should you have already purchased hosting with another provider.
Is web hosting included in the price?
Yes. Your first 12 months hosting as well as 12 months plugin and WordPress updates are included in the price.
Can I sell products through my website?
The web development platform we build on has online shopping capabilities built in. So if you decide in the future to start selling Gift Vouchers or Merchandise we can add shopping cart functionality later on.
I would like to sell gift vouchers. Is this possible?
The Social Tap online gift voucher platform is 100% self-serve, so customers can purchase vouchers for friends and family any time of the day or night and pay online with their credit card via your website. You will need a Pro or Pro Plus Website Package to sell online. Please see pricing below.
Where is your web design company based?
Social Tap is based in Noosa, Queensland. We provide web design Noosa and web design Sunshine Coast. In addition to these areas, we work with website design clients all over Australia including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville and beyond. We also have a number of clients based around the world.
We have video and audio conferencing facilities for private meetings and have the experience to deliver an outstanding website for you no matter where you are based in the world!
With a custom designed website, are there a few draft design styles that I would choose from or do you provide just one sample and we use it as a base to make changes?
We will provide a single design which will be developed based on your business objectives, branding and colour palette. We don’t provide the design as a Photoshop / static image, we ‘design in the browser.’ We do this for 2 reasons
- You will have a very clear idea on how the page will function, as it will be an interactive page with sliding banners, hover effects, buttons etc.
- This methodology is much more agile, allowing for rapid iterations
Does the mobile responsive design refer to mobile phones and tablets?
Yes. We develop websites for desktop mobile and tablet. For most of our clients, we design for mobile first.
Do the enquiry forms refer only to that which would appear on a Contact Us page, or could it also include a ‘sign-up to our newsletter’ form on another page?
Included in all our website builds are an enquiry form and a newsletter sign up form.
What do the security updates include?
We often get asked by our customers: Is WordPress secure, and why do I need to keep my website security up to date?
WordPress is a fully functional open-source content management system available for anyone to use as a website platform.
As a result, WordPress is a very popular choice for businesses looking to build their website. Millions of sites around the world are using WordPress as their back-end. Due to its popularity, it is not surprising that WordPress has become a target for hackers.
Unfortunately, sometimes a vulnerability will be found that hackers can use to their advantage to access or deface a WordPress installation.
Fortunately, the WordPress team are quick to react to these security exploits, often releasing a fix before you even know there is a problem. These fixes are also provided by WordPress at no cost.
The role of the Social Tap Support Team is to make sure your site is constantly up to date with the newest versions of WordPress and related plugins. The team will run regular updates on all websites we have built. The ongoing cost for this is $20/month. This ensures your site is as secure as it can be against potential attacks from hackers.
What is ‘General onsite SEO’
Included in the build our team will load SEO Titles and Meta Descriptions to all pages. We will also use Alt and Title tags on all images.
What might the 3rd party costs which are not included refer to? I’m not sure if this would be applicable to my website?
An example of a third part cost could be payment gateway / credit card processing fees (if the website is ecommerce enabled). Or if a premium plugin is required to do something over and above standard WordPress and Social Tap website functionality.
Under the Website terms it refers to the themes remaining the property of Social Tap – what does this mean?
Should we need to use any premium plugins during the website build, the plugin license will be owned by Social Tap. If we part ways you would need to purchase a new license under your name in order to continue to receive ongoing software updates and patches to that plugin.
Does the fee include a link to MailChimp? As I’d like to have my newsletters on one of the webpages (though created in MailChimp).
MailChimp is free to use up to 2,000 subscribers*. Included in the website build is connection of the subscribe form back to MailChimp. So one a user signs up they are automatically added to your MailChimp list.
Does the service include setting up my website for Google analytics?
Included in the website build is setting up / loading Google Analytics, setting up website goals in Analytics, Google Search Console set-up and site map submission to Google.
What would be my max GB quota for the site?
Most standard websites are nowhere near 1GB in size.
Do you ensure cross-browser compatibility to check if the site works across major current browsers – so we reach a wide range of users?
Our websites are built to be compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Edge.
Is the website hosted in Australia or off-shore?
We host our sites with Cloudways in their Sydney datacentre.
If your customer base is located somewhere other than Australia we can organise hosting where you need it.
Is the website backed-up in Australia or using off-shore facility?
Our websites are backed-up onshore.
Is there a max number of email addresses that can be associated with the website?
As we use a cloud-based hosting company, email addresses are not included with hosting. For peace of mind when it comes to spam protection and accessibility, we recommend using a dedicated email provider like Google Workspace or Microsoft Exchange.
Are social sharing buttons included? I don’t currently have them but thinking about adding to my blog page.
Social Media Sharing is included on all blog posts and products by default. They can be turned off if required.
